Casa Dupont Mansion Xanadu

Varadero, as a beach resort is the work of Irénée Dupont de Nemours, the American multimillionaire. He came to settle in his residence here in the thirties, in the middle of unexploited and wild scenery that offered this peninsula at that time. He laid out half of the peninsula in order to attract investors and materialize this way his visionary plan of the most beautiful beach of the Caribbean. His residence, the Mansión Xanadú, remains intact and welcomes the traveler, who can have dinner and sleep there, in a "Relais & Chateaux" style. It is not really luxurious but a familiar atmosphere is immediately created by a nice staff and the "guests" accommodated in the five rooms available and in the suite, the former room of Irénée. The beach, on the rocky north side, bathes the residence, and the Golf course, the only one in Cuba, serves as a garden on south side. The players can enjoy the Green without limits if they are accommodated in the Mansion.
