Bacardi Building

Bacardi rhymes with the Cuban rum. It is a family story that began in Santiago de Cuba in the twenties. Bacardi became the most important producer of sugar cane and rum in Cuba until the triumph of the Revolution. Today, in spite of the propaganda, Bacardi has no more relation with Cuba. Only his architectural and cultural heritage is still there: two museums, devoted to plastic arts, one in Santiago de Cuba and the other in Havana that show Emilio Bacardi Moreau's personal collection ; and one of the most beautiful examples of the Art deco architecture in this continent: the Bacardi building, the former office of its company.
